GASPARILLA ISLAND STATE PARK TO HOST PUBLIC WORKSHOP
~The public is invited to share
input on the land management plans ~
BOCA GRANDE – The Florida Department of Environmental
Protection’s Florida Park Service will host a a public workshop and presentation of the
update to the management plan for Gasparilla Island State Park on Tuesday, April
1 at the Armory Chapel at Gasparilla Island State Park.
The
presentation will propose updates to the management plan.
Proposed
updates will include:
- Improved day-use access and facilities in the
park, including boardwalk improvements and construction of permanent
restrooms at the Rangelight, Seagrape, Seawall and Dunes use areas of the
park.
- Historic preservation of the Boca Grande
Lighthouse and improvements to visitor access throughout the Lighthouse
area of the park.
- Continued management of the park’s natural and
cultural resources.
The Advisory
Group Meeting to review the updates to the management plan will be held Wednesday,
April 2 at 9 a.m. in the same location.
The
