GULF BREEZE, Fla. – This week, residential tap sampling continued in response to the Boil Water Notice issued by Midway Water System on Oct. 18, 2021. Sampling began on Oct. 22, 2021, and to date, 481 samples have been collected. (Note: Multiple samples may be collected from a single residence as needed.)
The department continues to work with remaining impacted residences to schedule sampling, which is estimated to be two homes.
Bottled water will continue to be made available to affected residents on an as needed basis until testing results confirm the water is safe to drink. Information regarding how affected residents can obtain bottled water is available on DEP's community webpage.
Residents should continue to use an alternative water source until testing can be done in their homes to confirm the water meets all drinking water bacteriological standards.
DEP will continue to oversee efforts by the utility to ensure that safe drinking water is restored as quickly as possible.
Residents with health-related questions or concerns should contact their physician or the Florida Department of Health - Santa Rosa County.
