DEP/DOH Joint Potable Water Update:

Midway Water System, Gulf Breeze, Florida 

GULF BREEZE, Fla. – Today, DEP and Midway Water System staff continued residential tap sampling in response to the Boil Water Notice issued by Midway Water System on Oct. 18, 2021. Sampling began on Oct. 22, 2021, and to date, samples from approximately 404 residences have been collected. In the coming days, samples will be collected from all remaining impacted residences. 

DEP continues to operate a bottled water distribution station to aid impacted residents. This notice covered the area between 4115 Soundside Drive and 5012 Soundside Drive, including Nature's Cove and The Waters subdivisions and adjacent streets.

Please note: DEP has relocated its distribution site to Midway Water Syste,. Bottled water will continue to be available to affected residents until testing results confirm the water is safe to drink.

Hours of Operation:

Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 – 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 – 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 – 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Residents should continue to use an alternative water source until testing can be done in their homes to confirm the water meets all bacteriological standards.

DEP launched a community webpage so residents have access to the latest information on the bottled water distribution sites, sampling data and response activities.

DEP will continue to oversee efforts by the utility to ensure that safe drinking water is restored as quickly as possible.
