New Trainings and Workshops for Water and Wastewater Utilities

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced new cybersecurity training and workshops. This is a great opportunity for help with an assessment and the development of a cyber action plan.

Introduction to Cybersecurity Virtual Workshop

EPA is sponsoring a series of free virtual workshops on water sector cybersecurity that are available to water and wastewater systems, government officials and others involved in water sector cybersecurity. The overall goal is for participants to identify planning and procedural actions that enhance cybersecurity and mitigate risk in their systems.

There are three series of dates: Sept. 15-16, Oct. 13-14 and Nov. 3-4.

Cybersecurity Assessment with Technical Assistance for Water and Wastewater Utilities

EPA is offering free, confidential assessments and technical assistance to interested drinking water and wastewater utilities. The assessment and assistance will focus on best practices on how to prepare for, respond to and recover from a cyber incident. Adoption of these practices can reduce the likelihood that a cyberattack will be successful and allow a utility to recover from cyberattacks faster and at a lower cost. The assessment and assistance will include the development of a cyber action plan to guide the implementation of best practices.
