DEP Hosts Second Blue-Green Algae Task Force Meeting
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is hosting the second meeting of the Blue-Green Algae Task Force, which will play an important role in expediting water quality improvements in the next five years. The key focus of the Task Force is to support funding and restoration initiatives, such as prioritizing solutions and making recommendations to expedite nutrient reductions in Lake Okeechobee and the downstream estuaries.
During the second meeting, the Task Force will continue covering the Lake Okeechobee BMAP and begin discussing innovative technologies. The agenda is available on the Blue-Green Algae Task Force website. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
