Florida State Parks Weekend Happenings: Dec. 7-9

~Visit a Florida State Park this weekend for exciting events and activities~

Florida's 175 state parks are the perfect places to explore, reconnect, try something new and make lasting memories with friends and families. Check out some of the exciting events and activities planned statewide this weekend, and visit a state park near you. Northeast  Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park Friday, Dec. 7: Follow the sound of the Gold Head Branch stream for a 2.3-mile round-trip hike and a short campfire chat during a ranger-led moonlit hike.

Northwest  Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park  Saturday, Dec. 8: Enjoy an evening cruise down the scenic Wakulla River, followed by a dinner at the historic Wakulla Springs Lodge.

Central  Silver Springs State Park Saturday, Dec. 8: Watch the Ocala Plein Air Painters capture the beauty of Silver Springs and bring a canvas to life.

Southeast The Barnacle Historic State Park Saturday, Dec. 8: Spread out a picnic blanket on The Barnacle's welcoming front lawn and enjoy a night of live music during the Under Moonlight Concert Series.

South  Collier-Seminole State Park  Saturday, Dec. 8: Join the Everglades Astronomical Society and view stars, galaxies and planets during  Star Gazing at the Marsh.

Southwest  Oscar Scherer State Park Sunday, Dec, 9: Join park staff for a hike on the Green Trail to observe a pair of nesting American bald eagles.
