The public is invited to attend the Florida Coastal Office's public meeting to hear about Oklawaha River Aquatic Preserve, current and future management, and to provide comment on the draft management plan. The draft plan is available for viewing or download at http://publicfiles.dep.state.fl.us/CAMA/plans/aquatic/Oklawaha-River-AP-Management-Plan.pdf.
The Florida Coastal Office seeks public comment on the draft. Written comments are welcome and can be submitted by mail to Jeff Sowards at Rainbow Springs State Park, 19152 SW 81 Place Road, Dunnellon, FL 34432 or by email to FloridaCoasts@floridadep.gov on or before May 29, 2018. Members of the
Oklawaha River Aquatic Preserve Management Plan Advisory Committee have also
been invited to attend and listen to comments.
The following management issues are being addressed in the draft Oklawaha River Aquatic Preserve Management Plan:
- Water quality
- Wildlife protection and habitat restoration
- Sustainable public use
