Crystal River Preserve State Park to Host Public Meeting
~The public is invited to provide comments on the management plan~
DEP's Florida Park Service is in the process of updating the unit management plan for Crystal River Preserve State Park. Citizens are invited to attend the public meeting to learn more about the proposed plan and to provide their comments.

The public notice, agenda and draft plan are available online. Copies also may be obtained by emailing John.Lakich@dep.state.fl.us or calling 352-228-6021. There will be a brief presentation at 6 p.m. Following the presentation, staff will be available for the duration of the meeting to answer questions and accept public comment. Additionally, the public is invited to review and submit comments to the Division of Recreation and Parks at FLStateParkPlanning@dep.state.fl.us until May 10, 2018.
The following improvements are proposed for the updated Crystal River Preserve State Park management plan:
- Relocate the interpretive exhibit in the boat basin area and add a canoe/kayak launch on the Ozello Trail;
- Add hike and paddling trails, a boardwalk and an observation platform;
- Develop a campground with up to 60 sites, and add boat access and a dock to the Mullet Hole area;
- Redesign the entrance road, ranger station, office and storage; and relocate the administrative office and storage/shop in the boat basin area.
