Florida Paddlesports Month

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection invites Florida's residents and visitors to celebrate Florida Paddlesports Month this November by exploring the more than 4,000 miles of designated paddling trails throughout the state.

"Paddling adventures are endless within Florida's designated paddling trails and state parks," said Florida State Parks Assistant Director Chuck Hatcher. "I encourage everyone to explore the beautiful waterways and coasts our state has to offer this month."

November features many statewide events that provide Florida's residents and visitors the opportunity to explore Florida's natural ecosystems. Paddle under a full moon at Oleta River State Park, explore one of the world’s largest Coastal Dune Lakes at Camp Helen State Park, learn about the history and natural resources at St. Andrews State Park, or join volunteers for the Second Saturday Paddle at Hillsborough River State Park.

Florida is home to 66 state designated paddling trails, coordinated by the Florida Park Service's Office of Greenways and Trails. Annually, an estimated 13.5 million residents and visitors enjoy the beauty and health benefits of paddlesports in Florida.
