GTM Research Reserve Needs Volunteers for Spoil Islands Trash Cleanup

WHAT:        Spoil Islands Trash Cleanup

                   10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The Guana Tolomato Matanzas (GTM) Research Reserve is recruiting volunteers for a marine debris cleanup on Saturday, June 3. Volunteers will be cleaning up Mellon Island and Jordan Island, the spoil islands managed by Faver Dykes State Park. Nonstop boat shuttles from the Whitney Laboratory pickup area to the spoil islands will allow volunteers flexibility for participation. It is recommended that participants wear long, lightweight pants and closed toe shoes, and bring a hat, sunscreen, bug repellent and water bottle.
