State Park Snapshot: Jonathan Dickinson State Park
In 1696, a shipwrecked merchant landed near a spot which now bears his name. Johnathan Dickinson State Park is home to the Loxahatchee River, Florida's first federally designated "Wild and Scenic River." You can explore the Loxahatchee by kayak, canoe or interpretive boat tour. Along the way you will see the Trapper Nelson site and gain a glimpse of life on the river in the 1930s.
