TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The holiday season is officially here and DEP's Florida Park Service is proud to announce statewide events for all Florida residents and visitors to participate in this month. With 174 state parks, trails and historic sites, there are a wide range of events to choose from.

“The holiday season is about spending time with family and loved ones, and what better place to do that than at one of Florida’s beautiful state parks?” said Florida Park Service Director Donald Forgione. “Your family and friends are sure to enjoy one or more of the many special celebrations taking place at Florida State Parks this month.”

Children can make their own holiday wreaths at the Dudley Farm Historic State Park on Saturday, Dec. 10. If you’re looking for a way to stay in shape through the holiday season, join the Santa’s Twilight 5K Race at Lake Louisa State Park on Saturday, Dec. 17, a sure way to help you burn off those Christmas cookies. A great way to brighten your holiday season is by attending the beautiful light show at Ravine Gardens State Park on Dec. 16 or 24.
