~ Nominate a deserving organization by Nov. 18, 2016 ~
Northwest Florida –
In
support of DEP’s vision of creating strong community partnerships, safeguarding
Florida’s natural resources and enhancing its ecosystems, DEP’s Northwest
District Office has developed a new Environmental Stewardship Awards Program to
recognize those who are working alongside DEP to safeguard Florida’s
natural resources and enhance its ecosystems.
The
program recognizes businesses, professional and community organizations,
and local governments within DEP's Northwest District for proactive, innovative and exceptional
achievements to reduce impacts on the
environment beyond measures required by permit or rule. To be considered for recognition, participants must demonstrate significant
and measurable achievements that provide a direct benefit to our environment in
one or more of the following categories:
- Reducing environmental impacts - Conserving resources - Enhancing ecosystems - Restoring impacts
Other criteria that will be considered include organizational or community involvement, continuous improvement, and community education and outreach.
To nominate an organization, or to be
considered for recognition, please provide a detailed summary of the environmental stewardship efforts, including the criteria outlined above, by
close of business Friday, Nov. 18. Submissions
can be made by mail to the Northwest District Office or by email. Please review
the program rules and instructions for details on how to apply.
Winners will be recognized Dec. 13 during the Northwest District Office Open House.
