The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Northeast District will conduct a free workshop for aviation maintenance facilities staff on how to manage hazardous waste in a cost-effective and legal manner.

DEP inspects businesses that generate, transport, treat, store or dispose of hazardous waste, used oil and filters, and universal wastes to protect the environment from improper handling and disposal. Common regulated wastes include: used oil, used oil filters, corrosives, antifreeze, solvents, rags, paint wastes, lead-acid batteries and spent fluorescent bulbs.
