FANNING SPRINGS STATE PARK TO HOST
PUBLIC HEARING

~The public is invited to provide comments on the management plan~

DEP's Florida Park Service is in the process of updating the Unit Management Plan for Fanning Springs State Park. Citizens are invited to attend a public hearing to learn more about the proposed plans for the state park and to provide their comments.

Please review the public notice, agenda and draft plan. Copies may also be obtained by emailing Mark.Abrizenski@dep.state.fl.us or calling 352-463-3450. The public is invited to review and submit comments to the Division of Recreation and Parks at FL_StateParkPlanning@dep.state.fl.us until Sept. 1, 2016.  

The following improvements are proposed for the updated Fanning Springs State Park management plan:

•  Develop a new campground with 30 sites;
•  Add five vacation cabins in the cabin area;
•  Install a floating dock and canoe/kayak launch on the Suwannee River;
• Construct a new pavilion in the Wayside Park to provide more picnicking opportunities; and
  
• Add picnic pavilions and construct a new bath facility and concession building in the springs day-use area.
