JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection joined the Clean
Boating Partnership to designate Lamb's Yacht Center as a Clean Marine Retailer, its third Clean Marina Program designation. The marina is the first designated Clean Marine Retailer in the Northeast District and the 20th in the state.
"Clean water is vital to Florida's environment and economy, and
Clean Marinas such as Lamb’s Yacht Center are helping to further protect
this precious resource," said Greg Strong, director of DEP's Northeast District.
"Receiving this special Clean Marine Retailer designation
is a way for outstanding marinas to display that they understand the important
role they play in maintaining and protecting our waterways."
The Clean Marine Retailer designation is presented to marinas that
employ environmental best management practices in boat and engine
service
operations and facilities, as well as educate boaters on clean
boating practices. Lamb's Yacht Center is also a designated Clean Marina
and Clean Boatyard – demonstrating a commitment to the environment in
all facets of the marine industry.
“Lamb's Yacht Center is proud
to reach the level of triple designation in the Northeast Florida Clean Marina
Program,” said Lamb’s Yacht Center Owner Peggy Sue Williams. “The river is our livelihood and our passion. We take doing business on the river seriously and it will continue to be a focus
for us. This was accomplished by our
whole team at the center who worked very hard to achieve our third Clean Marina designation. Environmental
stewardship is a top priority.”
The department has launched an interactive map that provides the locations of Clean Marinas around the state. To learn more about the Clean Marina Program and to
