DEP TO HOST PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING TEMPORARY DRAWDOWN OF RODMAN RESERVOIR
~Opportunity to learn about the timing and purpose of the
drawdown process~
PALATKA
– The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of
Greenways and Trails (OGT) within the Division of Recreation and Parks
will host a public meeting to provide information on plans for a
temporary drawdown of the Rodman Reservoir in Putnam and Marion counties
on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
OGT will discuss the schedule for the
Rodman Reservoir drawdown, the proposed major water level fluctuation
and its ecological and recreational benefits. Historically, the
Reservoir has been drawn down every three years, for a period of
approximately two months during the winter in order to achieve numerous
ecological benefits.
