The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Central District
will conduct this free workshop, which focuses on the safe handling of
commercial hazardous waste and the proper storage of used oil. Agenda items
include hazardous waste identification, large-quantity generator hazardous
waste regulations, used oil and used-oil filter management standards and
universal waste regulations. The training will also assist generators and commercial waste management facilities in completing their biennial report due Mar. 1, 2016.
DEP inspects businesses that generate,
transport, treat, store or dispose of hazardous waste, used oil and filters,
and universal wastes in order to protect the environment from their improper
handling or disposal. This workshop will provide participants the knowledge to
ensure compliance with hazardous waste regulations.
