WHITE SPRINGS, Fla. – The Florida
Department of Environmental Protection’s Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center
State Park is hosting the 63rd Annual Florida Folk Festival this
Memorial Day Weekend, May 22 - 24, on the banks of the historic Suwannee
River. The festival has once again been
named a “Top 20 Event” in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.
There will be more than 300 performances
by Florida’s greatest folk and roots artists, including national recording
artists, songwriters and musicians of swing, folk, blues, gospel, country,
Latin, jazz, bluegrass, Caribbean and zydeco music. In addition to a full
schedule of performances, the Florida Department of State’s Folklife Program
will celebrate the diverse cultures of St. Johns County in the Folklife Area.
“There
really is something for everyone at the Florida Folk Festival. You’re sure to
hear plenty of wonderful music, enjoy tasty food, join a jam session, take a
workshop, and do a little shopping, all while paying tribute to Florida’s land,
people and diverse cultural heritage,” said Donald Forgione, director of the
Florida Park Service.

Fitchen, Billy Dean, Jim Stafford, Sam Pacetti, Belle
and the Band, Michael Jordan and more!
