Meteorological Summary:
- Temperatures and wind chills in the 20s and 30s, stretching into interior South Florida, will gradually warm up through the morning hours.
- Cold Weather Advisories and Freeze Warnings will remain in effect until mid-morning.
- A mostly sunny day is expected statewide with dry conditions prevailing.
- Relative humidities will dip below critical thresholds across North Florida and the western Peninsula this afternoon (20-30% RH values).
- Although lighter winds will limit the overall wildfire threat today, sensitive to locally elevated wildfire conditions cannot be ruled out, especially in areas experiencing the most severe drought.
- The breeziest winds will be along the Southeast Florida coast where wind gusts upwards of 20 mph are possible.
- Temperatures will warm up into the upper 50s to lower 60s across North Florida, with middle 60s to lower 70s throughout Central and South Florida.
- Dry conditions will prevail overnight, though a light coastal shower cannot be ruled out at the southern tip of the Peninsula and Keys (20-30% chance of rain).
- Lows will dip into the 30s across North Florida, with localized patchy frost development. A Frost Advisory will likely be issued for portions of Northeast Florida tonight.
- Lows in the middle 40s will spread across Central Florida and upper 40s to lower 60s throughout South Florida.
- With light winds overnight, wind chills across the state will be near or warmer than actual temperatures.
- A moderate risk for rip currents is expected for most East Coast and Panhandle beaches. A local high risk is expected for Southwest Florida beaches.
