Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

Meteorological Summary:
  • Abundant sunshine and near-zero rain chances can be expected across Florida as we welcome the New Year!
  • Temperatures trend warmer this afternoon, with highs reaching the middle to upper 60s statewide. 
  • While temperatures remain above freezing tonight, low temperatures in the middle to upper 30s can be expected for the interior eastern Florida Panhandle and Suwannee River Valley.
  • Isolated pockets of patchy frost possible for elevated and grassy surfaces throughout inland Northeast Florida. 
  • Areas of fog and low clouds possible along the western Florida Peninsula tonight into Friday morning.
  • Ongoing drought and low relative humidity values will contribute to elevated wildfire conditions statewide.
  • A moderate risk of rip currents can be expected for most Florida beaches.
