Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

Meteorological Summary:
  • Patchy dense fog has developed overnight across the western Panhandle, and a Dense Fog Advisory will remain in effect until 8 AM CST this morning.
  • Patchy fog across the western Panhandle and localized areas of Northeast Florida will quickly dissipate after sunrise this morning giving way to another sunny and dry day across Florida (near-0% chance of rain statewide).
  • Although winds will remain light, relative humidities will dip near critical thresholds across North Florida this afternoon (30-35% RH values) which may lead to sensitive to locally elevated wildfire conditions.
  • Temperatures will remain warm today for mid-November standards, reaching 6-10-degrees above normal in parts of North Florida and near seasonable levels across Central and South Florida.
  • Highs will climb into the middle 70s to lower 80s statewide this afternoon.
  • Low temperatures will continue their warming trend this weekend, only reaching the upper 40s to middle 50s across much of North and Central Florida.
    • Widespread patchy fog, which could be locally dense, may develop across much of North and Central Florida overnight and towards daybreak Sunday.
    • Dense Fog Advisories cannot be ruled out if conditions warrant.
  • Lows will only dip into the lower to middle 60s for South Florida overnight.
  • A moderate risk for rip currents is expected for most Panhandle, Space Coast, and Treasure Coast beaches today.
