Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

Meteorological Summary:
  • Foggy conditions will gradually dissipate mid-morning and give way to another mostly cloudy day in the Sunshine State.
  • Scattered showers will continue to expand across the Peninsula, with a thunderstorm or two possible along the East Coast (25-40% chance of rain).
  • Low clouds and patchy to locally dense fog may develop tonight from the Suwannee River Valley through the Peninsula.
  • Tides continue to run above normal across South Florida, and minor coastal flooding cannot be ruled out at times of high tide.
  • River Flood Warnings remain in effect for the upper St. Johns River as water levels continue to recede; minor to moderate flooding will persist through next week.
  • A high risk of rip currents will continue for many Atlantic Coast and eastern Panhandle beaches today.
  • Tropical development is not expected over the next 5 days.
