Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 1
Meteorological Summary:
  • Another day of low rain chances and mostly dry conditions can be expected across Florida.
  • Showers with an isolated rumble of thunder will be possible along portions of the Space and Treasure Coasts this afternoon and evening (20-35% chance of rain).
  • Breezy northeasterly winds will keep temperatures in the middle 70s to lower 80s, with the middle 80s expected across South Florida and the Keys. Wind gusts along the immediate Atlantic Coast may reach 25-30 mph.
  • Despite the dry conditions over the past few, moderate to major riverine flooding continues along may Florida Peninsula and Northeast Florida waterways, following historic rainfall from Hurricane Ian. While a slow recession of water levels persists along West Florida Rivers, we continue to monitor the slow rise of upstream points along the St. Johns River.
  • An elevated rip current risk continues for many Panhandle and East Coast beaches; a locally high risk develops along eastern Panhandle beaches.
  • The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two tropical waves for potential development; Invest 91L, located east of the Windward Islands now has 40% (medium) chance of development over the next 5 days.
