Meteorological Summary:
- As an area of high pressure build across the region, mostly clear skies and dry conditions can be expected statewide.
- An isolated shower or two may develop along the East Coast (10-20% chance of rain).
- Moderate to major river flooding continues along many West, Central, and Northeast Florida rivers, creeks, and waterways; little to no rainfall in the forecast will help Florida waterways to slowly recede over the coming week.
- Tides gradually returning to normal along Florida’s East Coast, the potential for minor coastal flooding continues along the Atlantic and St. Johns River Basin today.
- An elevated rip current risk continues for eastern Panhandle and East Coast beaches today.
- Monitoring two tropical waves in the Atlantic Basin for development over the next 5 days. Invest 91L, located east of the Windward Islands, has a medium chance for development (40%) over the next 5 days.
