Meteorological Summary:
- Typical summer day across Florida, with showers and thunderstorms possible at any location this afternoon.
- Elevated rain chances of the Panhandle, West Coast, and southern Peninsula (50-80% chance of rain); a few thunderstorms may be strong.
- Marginal Risk for Flash Flooding (level 1 of 4) for North Florida and the southern Peninsula; minor flooding possible within urban/low-lying areas.
- An elevated risk of rip currents continues along many Panhandle and Atlantic Coast beaches.
- Potential Tropical Cyclone #2 could become Tropical Storm Bonnie later today; there is no threat to Florida from this system.
- The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring two additional disturbances in the Atlantic, Invest 95L with a 40% (medium) chance of development over the next 5 days and a tropical wave over the central tropical Atlantic with a 30% (low) chance of development over the next 5 days.
