Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 3

Meteorological Summary:

This afternoon will be the hottest day of the heat wave in North Florida.
Only an isolated shower or thunderstorm is forecast today across Northeast and Central Florida.
Actual temperatures today will range from 100-105 degrees across inland North Florida- near record levels.
The wildfire threat will be elevated today, especially in North Florida.
The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave near the coast of Africa. It has a 20% low chance of development over the next 5 days, and is about one week away from approaching the eastern Caribbean.
