Meteorological Summary:
- Strong to severe thunderstorms for the Nature Coast and Peninsula this afternoon; Marginal Risk for Severe Weather (level 1 of 5).
- Thunderstorms may produce locally damaging wind gusts (40-60 mph), frequent lightning, small hail, and heavy rainfall rates.
- Marginal Risk for Flash Flooding (level 1 of 4) over the Peninsula; flooding across urban/low-lying areas possible.
- Showers and thunderstorms develop along the afternoon sea breeze in the Panhandle; a few may be strong.
- Heat Advisories in effect for the Big Bend, Nature Coast, and West Coast; heat index values of 105-112 degrees possible.
- A moderate to high risk of rip currents expected along most Panhandle and Atlantic Coast beaches.
