Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 3 - Monitoring 
 
Meteorological Summary: 
  • Periods of rain across the Panhandle and Big Bend today with an isolated thunderstorm.
  • Rain chances increase this afternoon and evening across Northeast and Central Florida with scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm.
  • Showers this morning in Southeast Florida and the Keys transition into a few thunderstorms in Southwest Florida this afternoon.
  • Temperatures remain mild- highs today in the 60s, 70s, and 80s with low tonight in the 50s and 60s.
  • There is a high rip current risk for Southeast Florida beaches and a moderate rip current risk for Panhandle beaches and all other Atlantic beaches.
  • A River Flood Warning remains in effect for the Apalachicola River near Blountstown until further notice for minor flooding.
  • Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 12.93 feet, which is and estimated 1.67 feet below normal for this time of year.
