Meteorological Summary:
- Isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon statewide.
- Near record heat continues in the Peninsula.
- A cold front moves through the Panhandle tonight bringing a threat of damaging winds (45-60 mph) and a tornado.
- The Storm Prediction Center has the western Panhandle in a Slight Risk of severe weather with a Marginal Threat for the rest of North Florida.
- There is a high rip current risk for Panhandle beaches.
- Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 13.50 feet, which is 1.56 feet below normal for this time of year.
