Meteorological Summary:
- Scattered showers and thunderstorms across North Florida today bringing much needed rainfall.
- A few thunderstorms could be strong today with a damaging wind gust in the Panhandle and Big Bend.
- Dry weather continues in the Peninsula, but rain chances increase overnight for Central Florida.
- There is a moderate rip current risk for Atlantic and Panhandle beaches.
- Nuisance to minor coastal flooding remains possible in Northeast Florida, Southeast Florida, and the Florida Keys.
- There remains a moderate to high wildfire threat across North Florida, until the rainfall arrives.
- Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 13.47 feet, which is 1.57 feet below normal for this time of year.
