Meteorological Summary:
  • Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Peninsula today.
  • Hot temperatures continue with highs in the lower to middle 90s and heat index values of 96-103.
  • High rip current risk for Southeast Florida and moderate risk for all other East Coast and all Panhandle beaches.
  • Invest 95L near the Bahamas has a high chance of development; the wave off Africa has a medium chance of formation.
  • Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 13.88 feet, which is 0.60 feet below normal for this time of year.
