Meteorological Summary:
- Hot and dry weather expected for most today. Temperatures will reach well into the 90s with a heat index 100-105 degrees.
- Isolated thunderstorms develop this afternoon, with the best chance of rain across inland areas of the Peninsula.
- There is a high rip current risk for Panhandle beaches with a moderate risk for most Atlantic beaches.
- Tropical Depression Barry is well inland over Arkansas. Barry poses no threat to Florida.
- There are no areas being monitored for tropical development in the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, or Caribbean.
- Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 11.48 feet, which is 2.10 feet below normal for this time of year.
