Meteorological Summary:
- Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Big Bend, Northeast Florida, and the Peninsula.
- There is a Marginal Risk of severe weather in the eastern half of the Peninsula today—damaging winds is the primary severe hazard.
- Drier, slightly cooler air moves into the Panhandle today and tonight.
- There is a moderate rip current risk for Walton and Bay County beaches today.
- The wildfire threat across the state remains low to moderate.
- Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 11.07 feet, which is 2.11 feet below normal for this time of year.
