Meteorological Summary:
- Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected statewide today.
- Any thunderstorms may contain frequent lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall.
- A localized case of flash flooding is possible today, particularly in the eastern Big Bend where rainfall amounts may top 3-5”.
- There is a high rip current risk for all Panhandle and most West Coast beaches today.
- The wildfire threat remains moderate statewide.
- Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 10.91 feet, which is 2.23 feet below normal for this time of year.
