Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 3 - Monitoring 
 
 
Meteorological Summary:
  • Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected statewide today.
  • Any thunderstorms may contain frequent lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall.
  • A localized case of flash flooding is possible today, particularly in the eastern Big Bend where rainfall amounts may top 3-5”.
  • There is a high rip current risk for all Panhandle and most West Coast beaches today.
  • The wildfire threat remains moderate statewide.
  • Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 10.91 feet, which is 2.23 feet below normal for this time of year.
