Meteorological Summary:
  • Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected across North and Central Florida, best chance in the western Panhandle.
  • Widespread severe weather is not expected, but gusty winds and heavy downpours could accompany stronger storms.
  • There is a moderate risk of rip currents along most Panhandle and most Atlantic beaches.
  • Several Panhandle rivers are in action stage, but none are forecast to rise into flood stage.
  • Drying fuels and a threat of lightning will lead to a low risk of wildfires today for the Peninsula.
  • Lake Okeechobee average elevation is 13.59 feet, which is 1.41 feet below normal for this time of year.
