Meteorological Summary:
  • Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected today with the best chance over the Panhandle.
  • There is a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for severe weather for much of the Panhandle and Big Bend.
  • Gusty, locally damaging winds would be the primary hazard for any strong to severe storms today.
  • All Atlantic beaches and most Panhandle beaches have a moderate risk of rip currents
  • Lake Okeechobee average elevation was 13.63 feet as of Wednesday, which was 1.41 feet below normal for this time of year.
