Pay Increase for Employees
Florida Department of Children and Families sent this bulletin at 09/10/2013 03:40 PM EDTDATE: September 10, 2013
TO: DCF Employees
FROM: Esther Jacobo, Interim Secretary
SUBJECT: Pay Increase for Employees
I am sure you remember that Governor Scott’s budget for the 2013/2014 Fiscal Year included salary increases for state employees. I am excited to tell you that those increases go into effect on Oct. 1 for employees who meet performance standards (3.0 overall or higher). Employees with a base rate pay of $40,000 or less annually will receive a pay increase of $1,400, employees making more than $40,000 will receive an increase of $1,000, and part-time employees will receive a pro-rated increase. Other Personal Services (OPS) employees are not included. This pay increase will first be seen on your Oct. 18 paystub or direct deposit.
If you did not meet your performance standards during your last evaluation (less than 3.0 overall), keep working to improve because you can still receive the pay increase if your performance improves before June 30, 2014. I hope this will be an extra incentive to improve and continue to strive to provide the best for the Floridians we serve.
Thank you for the work you do to improve the lives of the children, families and vulnerable adults we serve. I can’t imagine a more dedicated team of state employees who are more deserving of this pay increase. I appreciate the work you do every day and hope this pay increase will serve as a thank you from me, your Governor and State Legislature for your service to your fellow Floridians. Keep up the good work!
If you have additional questions regarding eligibility and performance standards, please contact your local employee relations representative or the Human Resources Shared Service Center at
