Healthy Monday Morning: Practice Loving Kindness

Love and Kindness

As we take time this Memorial Day to honor those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice to serve our country, be sure to take some time to show yourself and those around you some loving kindness. It spreads positivity and helps you feel more connected to others. We could all no doubt use a bit more connection these days.

Loving kindness meditation has roots in Buddhism, yet scientific research has shown that it can improve your overall happiness, outlook, and health. Loving kindness meditation joins compassion (concern for others) and empathy (seeing the world from another’s perspective). As a result, it can help you feel more connected to others and less isolated, which has longer-term benefits such as better mental and physical health.

Read on HERE for more on the benefits as well as a simple loving kindness meditation you can try any time.

Thank YOU for making your voice heard!

Thank You

I want to personally thank each and every one of the 4,361 of you who took the time recently to complete our Workforce Well-being Survey! What an AWESOME response rate!! And so much great feedback to help guide the work of the Office of Well-being! This tells me our big, beautiful workforce is excited to tackle some healthy habit-building and send our well-being through the roof.

I couldn’t be more thrilled to be on this healthy journey with you, and I have so many fun and effective ideas of how we’ll get there. Healthy changes take time – and they should because we want them to be sustainable and last a lifetime! So get ready for some interactive workshops, coworker challenges, fun games, practical trainings, educational resources, and all the healthy tips and tools you can handle.

First up, stay tuned for a Healthy Habits Workshop Series served up by yours truly! And have you joined our Well-being Team in the Teams app yet? It’s a great place for sharing about all things well-being! Just click HERE to join the team and be sure to check in daily to see what’s new.

If there’s a particular topic or program you’d like to see offered, don’t hesitate to reach out and share it with me. Email me any time at bewell@myflfamilies.com.
