DMVs Ticket Amnesty Program is Underway

Don't Delay Pay Today! DMV’s temporary Ticket Amnesty Program is underway. All parking, photo-enforcement and moving violation tickets issued before January 1, 2010 qualify for amnesty. During the amnesty period, all penalties previously added to outstanding tickets have been waived. The fastest and most efficient way to pay older amnesty tickets is to pay online at https://wmq.etimspayments.com/pbw/include/dc_parking/info.jsp. Payments can also be made over the phone by calling 1-866-893-5023. The ticket amnesty program will run from August 1, 2011 until January 27, 2012.
Individuals cannot request a hearing on amnesty tickets. If you are seeking a DMV service, live in the District and have amnesty tickets, you may be eligible for a payment plan.  Tickets that are currently in collections with DMV’s collections contractor, Professional Account Management are also eligible for amnesty. For more information about the program visit our website at http://www.dmv.dc.gov.

Driver improvement services will be available to customers at all DMV locations effective August 2. Customers can now visit any DMV service center (Penn Branch, Georgetown and Southwest) to reinstate their DC driver’s license or DC driving privilege. When eligible for reinstatement, you must pay the reinstatement fee and all outstanding tickets and clear any other stops on your record.

  Organ Donation saves lives.

When you apply for a new learner’s permit, driver’s license, or ID card, or when you apply to renew any of these documents online, you will be asked to choose whether or not you wish to be an organ and tissue donor. Your designation will be marked on the front of your license or ID card with a red heart. There is no age limit or health issue that prevents you from being a donor.  If you register through the DMV in person or online, your wishes will be part of the organ and tissue donor registry and also indicated on your driver’s license. You may also register online at www.DonateLifeDC.org, the District’s organ and tissue donor registry. If you use this method, you will get a organ and tissue donor card to print and carry with you. Either method is legal documentation of your desire to save lives.
