Do you know what information is in your driver record? The DC Department of Motor Vehicles has produced a video and brochure to assist you in understanding the material in your driver record and how it may impact your ability to drive. Watch the video on DC DMV's YouTube Page, and/or read the brochure on the agency's website.
All DC DMV locations will be closed on Thursday, November 27, 2014 for Thanksgiving. Regular hours will resume on Friday, November 28. High volume is expected at all DC DMV locations before and after the holiday, so please plan accordingly.
Last month, Ticket Tips featured one of the top 10 tickets frequently issued. (Note: DC DMV does not issue tickets.) This month, the focus is on another one - AM/PM Rush Hour, which is in effect from 7am-9:30am and 4pm-6:30pm. If you have been issued this ticket, you will need to show proof that your vehicle was not parked in the lane during these hours. With your request for adjudication, submit evidence or documentation showing that you did not commit the violation listed on the citation. For example:
1. Picture of your vehicle parked with signs visible.
2. Copy of vehicle registration showing that tag, make, or model listed on the ticket is different than your vehicle.
Detailed information about contesting a parking ticket is available on DC DMV's website.
