Developmental Disabilities Council will host a community meeting to discuss how Washington,
DC is working to become a more Age-Friendly City. The District’s Age-Friendly
City Initiative is part of an international effort started by the World Health
Organization (WHO) to respond to two significant demographic trends:
urbanization and rapid population aging.

The Committee on Finance and Revenue invites the public to testify at the hearing to discuss three real property bills. Bill 20-23 the “Residential Real
Property Equity and Transparency Act of 2013,” Bill 20-318 the “Senior Citizen
Real Property Tax Relief Act of 2013 and” Bill 20-476, the “District Real Property Tax Sale Act of 2013.” Those who wish to
testify should contact Sarina Loy, Committee Aide at 202-724-8058 or sloy@dccouncil.us, and provide your name,
organizational affiliation (if any), and title with the organization by 10
am on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Witnesses should bring 15 copies of
their written testimony to the hearing. The Committee allows individuals
three (3) minutes to provide oral testimony in order to permit each witness an
opportunity to be heard. Additional written statements are encouraged and
will be made part of the official record. Written statements may be

Efficiency and Renewable Energy Workshop" for District of Columbia
residents.

discuss the fundamentals of:

In conjunction with National Physical Therapy Month, and as part of the "Fit After 50" campaign, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and MoveForwardPT.com recently named the Top 10 Fittest Baby Boomer Cities in America.
To select the winners, APTA conducted a survey of the 50 largest US
metro areas to determine which cities are best suited for maintaining a
healthy and fit lifestyle as people age. Criteria included life
expectancy, cardiovascular health and stress levels of Baby Boomers, as
well as local healthcare and fitness resources.
