DC DMV is a winner three times over. At the annual Region 1 conference of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) in Dover, Delaware, DC DMV Director Lucinda Babers accepted three Public Affairs and Consumer Education (PACE) awards. The agency took top honors for:
1. Best Website, Externally-Produced;
2. Best Print of Electronic Newsletter, External; and
3. Best Photo Taken By a DMV Employee.
"These awards represent the hard work of DMV employees to promote the agency's services, particularly its online services as we encourage people to "Skip the Trip" and use DMV's online and mail services."
Babers also said that revamping the website was a collaborative effort between the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and DMV. "Updating the agency's website was a major undertaking, and the success is due to teamwork."
In observance of Labor Day, all DC DMV locations will be closed on Saturday, August 31 and Monday, September 2. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Be safe and enjoy the holiday.
After spending time in the District of Columbia running errands, visiting friends, shopping, or eating, you return to your vehicle and there is a ticket on the windshield. You read it and realize that the make and model on the ticket is different from your vehicle. What do you do?
Tip:
1. Submit a request for adjudication via mail or online. You also have the option to attend a walk-in hearing.
2. Provide DC DMV with all of the information regarding your situation, including a copy of your current vehicle registration, which shows the make and model of your vehicle.
3. Register for the email ticket alert service. By doing so, you will receive an email when a decision has been made.
4. Be patient. It may take at least six months before you receive a hearing decision letter from DC DMV.
