DC DMV is supporting the District's Department of Transportation and Metropolitan Police Department in educating drivers about Click It or Ticket. Enacted in 1997, the seatbelt law allows police to stop a vehicle if the driver and/or passengers are not wearing a seatbelt properly. All passengers in the front and back seats are required to be buckled up at all times. Failure to do so can result in a $50 fine and two points on your license. Wear your seatbelt and help the District in its TowardsZeroDeaths initiative where no traffic accident death is acceptable.
All DC DMV locations will be closed on Saturday, May 25 and Monday, May 27, 2013 in observance of Memorial Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 28. During the holiday time, please travel safely.
On May 1, 2013 at the Meridian House in Northwest, DC, DMV Associate Director Gabriel Robinson spoke to a group of diplomat family members and staff about driving in the District of Columbia. Robinson provided attendees with an overview of the agency's driver, vehicle, and adjudication services, as well as answered questions about parking permits, teen drivers, and adjudicating tickets.
The event was hosted by THIS for Diplomats, an organization dedicated to helping diplomats and their families adjust to life in the United States.
