Online Services Just for You!

Skip the Trip

Did you know that you can request a non-certified copy of your driver record online. You can order it in three-year, five-year, and ten-year increments, along with ordering your entire record.

You may also request a certified copy via mail or in-person. Know what  documents you need prior to an in-person visit.

DC DMV has more than 40 online and mail services. Visit the website at www.dmv.dc.gov. It's available daily from 6am-11:59pm, making it accessible to customers outside of the agency's regular business hours. "Skip the Trip." No lines online.

District License Plates to Undergo Change

Mayor Vincent C. Gray has announced that DC license plates will be changed to say, "District of Columbia." They will be issued once the current license plates with "Washington, D.C." have been used.

Past Due Ticket Fees Will Be Recovered from DC Tax Refund

This tax season, the Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) will collect outstanding parking and photo ticket fines, as well as other unpaid traffic penalities from DC tax refunds. OTR will send taxpayers a letter explaining the reason for the offest.

The law was established in the "Taxpayer Refund Offset for Department of Motor Vehicle Liabilities Act of 2012," which the Council of the District of Columbia passed as part of the Fiscal Year 2013 Budget Support Act.  

 

New Date for Grand Opening of Rhode Island Service Center

The Rhode Island Service Center located in Rhode Island Row, Northeast is now opening on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. It will be open Tuesday - Saturday from 8:15am to 4pm and provide the same services (licensing, identification, titling, and vehicle registration) that are currently offered at the Penn Branch and Southwest Service Centers.

Mayor Vincent C. Gray and DMV Director Lucinda Babers will celebrate the grand opening at the ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 27.

On Friday, March 22, at the end of the business day, the Temporary C Street Service Center will close permanently. Adjudication Services is located in the same building and will remain open.
