Hello Serve Ambassadors,
September has been a significant month for our District, focusing on empowering residents and organizations with crucial emergency preparedness skills. On behalf of Mayor Muriel Bowser, Serve DC is committed to ensuring your safety and that of your families. In honor of Emergency Preparedness Month, we collaborated with key agencies, including the Mayor's Office of Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs and the Mayor's Office of Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing, to provide comprehensive emergency preparedness training. This training has equipped us with vital lifesaving skills, enhancing our readiness for any emergency.
Another highlight of the month was the inspiring Spirit of Service awards ceremony, where we celebrated the dedication of D.C. community members and organizations to volunteerism and service in our District. These outstanding organizations invest their time and energy in addressing our community's most pressing challenges, and we deeply appreciate their contributions.
Lastly, I want to reiterate that volunteerism knows no bounds. Our community is enriched by the diversity of our volunteers, regardless of age or background. Each one of you plays a crucial role in serving our community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers for their outstanding service this month.
If you're interested in volunteering, I encourage you to visit our . There, you can explore a wide range of opportunities to help local organizations and youth who need community service hours. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference in our community.
In partnership and collaboration,
 Jermaine Dillon
