(Washington, DC) - There are Activities Aplenty in the month of April at DPR!! We had some amazingly warm Springtime days, and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has just the thing for the warm weather – activities aplenty!!  If you thought there was a lot happening at DPR in March, just wait until you see the many events and activities taking place in the month of April.  There is something for everyone at DPR such as Earth Day, Spring Cleanup Days, Easter of course, the start of the 2012 Baseball season, Spring Break Camps and more!

Spring brings thoughts of many things, but Baseball, Easter and Cherry Blossoms have to be among the top things that everyone thinks of when it comes to spring – especially the residents and visitors of the District of Columbia.  In April, DPR will host the opening of the 2012 Baseball season, along with Easter activities and a Cherry Blossom Tree planting event.  We hope you will come out, join us, and participate in all the fun!

April 22nd is National Earth Day.  This is a day where we pay more attention to our carbon footprint, how we are "treating" the earth and simply a reminder that we need to make a better effort at taking care of our planet.  Join us in some great cleanup activities and let us know on our Twitter & Facebook, the types of things that you are doing on Earth Day, and everyday, to take care of the earth and make our world a better place.

Our famous 2012 Spring/Summer guide is out and available online on the DPR website.  Be sure to start to sign up now for the amazing activities, classes and sports camps that will be offered during the Spring and Summer months.  For those coming to DPR headquarters to submit your permits for all of your summer outdoor activities, remember that the main DPR headquarters has moved - we are now located at 1250 U St., NW – feel free to come by and see us at our new location.

There are many, many more "Activities Aplenty" in the month of April at DPR, so be sure to take a look at the Events Listing below.  And remember, this is only a glimpse of the many activities and programs being held at DPR centers and facilities during the month of April - and year round!!
