Season’s Greetings!

As we close out 2023, the team at the Office of Planning is proud of what we have accomplished this year. Through our work, we continue to plan for a more equitable and resilient DC that will stand up against the challenges we face today and seize on future opportunities to thrive. This important work will continue in the new year, and we are excited for what 2024 holds for all of us and our city.

Contract Opportunity

Request for Proposal: Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant Study

OP is looking for a contractor to support a public life study, design guidelines, and a vending study for the neighborhoods of Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant. OP is seeking a contractor with expertise in the areas of urban design, public space management, land use economics, equitable urban planning, landscape design, transportation planning, and community engagement.

Bids are due by January 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM.

📢 Engage in Planning Efforts

Commemorate, OP’s initiative to identify Washingtonians to honor in DC neighborhoods, is underway! OP is working with community partners in Wards 4, 5, 7, and 8 to gather nominations for subjects that include culturally significant community events, Black Washingtonians, and other leaders of color in the District.  Voting for Ward 8 is open now. Vote for one of 13 nominees here.  OP looks forward to bringing on a design consultant and providing expert support to develop concept designs for commemorative works in these communities.
