HumanitiesDC is thrilled to announce their upcoming 2024 Community Grants Cycles. Their first cycle will open December 11, 2023, with opportunities to apply for the following grants:  DC Oral History Collaborative (DCOHC) and Extension Grants  DC Oral History Collaborative (DCOHC) Beyond the Archives  Community Culture and Heritage  Visions – Projects & Events  You can now find a brief summary of each of these opportunities on their Grants Opportunities page. Full RFPs will be released on December 11, and applications will be due February 20, 2024. Our Capacity Building and Youth in the Humanities grant programs will open for applications in March 2024.

The DC Volunteer Snow Program, brought to you by Mayor Bowser and Serve DC, matches volunteers with senior residents and those with access and functional needs for snow removal services in the aftermath of a winter event. Each winter season, our goal is to ensure that Serve DC Volunteer Snow Team members/volunteers adopt a resident that has submitted a Snow Removal Request. With your help, we are building a safer, stronger DC. JOIN OUR VOLUNTEERS!

The Commission's purpose is to encourage community service and volunteer participation as a means of community and state problem-solving; to promote and support voluntary citizen involvement in government and private programs throughout the District of Columbia; to develop a comprehensive vision and strategic plan for community service initiatives in the District of Columbia; and to serve as the District's liaison between national and other state organizations in concert with the District of Columbia strategic plan.  Interested residents engaged in the nonprofit, youth, philanthropic, business, and labor communities are particularly encouraged to apply.  Apply Now
