Free VIRTUAL Legal Clinic for Start-up Nonprofits
Thursday, October 19, 2023 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. ET
OR
Tuesday, November 14, 2023 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. ET
D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center is holding two free virtual legal clinics to help aspiring nonprofit founders go over the legal requirements for starting up.
**This event is only for organizations seeking to organize in Washington, D.C., that have not organized already in another state, AND that have not yet received 501(c)(3) status.**
ABOUT THE CLINIC: This is not a training. Attorney volunteers will meet with you one-on-one and walk you through several questions regarding your organization's current status, in order to identity your next steps toward becoming a legal entity.
Nonprofits can learn how to incorporate with DLCP, the process for obtaining 501(c)(3) status from the IRS, and early stage corporate governance best practices.
WHO SHOULD REGISTER: A board member, executive director, or founder of a nonprofit that has not yet applied for 501(c)(3) status.
